Robin Magowan took his Ph.D. in comparative literature from YaleUniversity and is a professional writer in a number of genres. He is the author of numerous books of poetry, among them Birds in a Forest Swaying (PasdeLoup,1990), Lilac Cigarette in a Wish Cathedral (1998) and Indelible Gestures (Northwestern, 2004).During the late 1970s while living in London, he founded the transatlantic review Margin. His prose writings include two books on bicycle racing, a book of travel essays, Improbable Journeys (2002), and an autobiography, Memoirs of a Minotaur.
