Cheryl Pallant has an M.A. in English from the C. W. Post Campus of Long Island University.  She is a poet and prose fiction writer as well as a dancer, dance theorist and teacher. For several years she taught writing at Virginia Commonwealth University. In all of her work she is interested in the “language” of communication. Her poetry includes Uncommon Grammar Cloth and Into Stillness (Station Hill Press). Her book on dance, Contact Improvisation, is published by McFarland & Co. She has recently spent one year as visiting professor at Keimyung University in Daegu, Korea and is currently a writer in residence in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
