John Dolis is a poet, literary critic and university professor. His M.A. and Ph.D. are from Loyola University of Chicago. Professor of English and American Literature at Penn State University, he is the author of two books of criticism on Hawthorne and Thoreau, and has published numerous articles and poems. He has also lectured abroad in Turkey, Romania and Italy, where he was Fulbright Professor at University of Turin.
